Sarah Palin didn't get elected as Vice President last November, but she is still the Governor of Alaska...or, at least, she was.
Today she announced that she is giving up her spot as Governor because she feels that all of the attention she's receiving about her personal life is hurting the political process in Alaska.
"People who know me know that besides faith and family, nothing's more important to me than our beloved Alaska," she said. She also added that all the publicity wasn't helping to raise money for important state issues like education and improving roads.
A new Governor won't be elected for another year and a half, so now Alaska's Lt. Governor will take her place.
