Get Involved With The Jonas Brothers...Seriously!
Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas may be in the middle of an insane summer touring schedule, but they're also taking time out to bring change to the lives of millions of children around the world. Check it out at changeforthechildren.org. That's the Jonas Brothers' very own website for their very own foundation: Change for the Children.
You got that right: we're giving you one more reason to fall in l-o-v-e with these guys!
According to the site, Change for the Children was founded by the JoBros because "we think the best people to help children are their peers - kids helping other kids who are a little less fortunate." The purpose of the foundation is to "motivate and inspire children to face adversity with confidence, determination and a will to succeed."
Each Jonas is involved with a different cause...Joe explains on the site that he supports the Special Olympics because it helps "develop self-confidence, social skills and a sense of personal accomplishment." Kevin says he supports volunteerism, because he believes "one person can make a difference by donating a little time and effort."
Want to get involved too? No problem. It's super easy to find the cause that YOU want to support on changeforthechildren.org. You can also share your own stories" of causes you've supported in the past.
And what about Nick?
Nick recently stepped up for his cause big time. On June 24th, he appeared before Congress in Washington, D.C. to testify for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to get more funding for diabetes research.
"Like everyone here today," Nick told Congress, "I know that the promise of a cure lies only in research."
Nick was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was 13.
"Diabetes has changed my life," Nick said. "With the help of Congress, I'll only have to wait a little bit longer for a cure."
