Now that summer's in full swing, we're getting the lowdown on all the wild, crazy and fun camps out there. Did we say crazy? Yes, we meant crazy. And we for sure meant fun. Gone are the plain ol' camp days of disgusting bug-filled cabins. Well, they still have those, too, but summer camp has gone high-tech. Check it out:
In Pennsylvania, we found a Spy Camp where you can train in paintball maneuvers and learn how to crack codes. Not exciting enough? Then how about Circus Camp in New York's Catskills Mountains? Juggling, acrobatics, unicycles....Wait! Still not exciting enough? Then check this out: Snowboarding Camp. You heard right. Real powder - smack dab in the middle of summer...in New Zealand!
Oh, and we were totally stoked to hear about an overnight Surf Camp in North Carolina - a week-long stint on the beach, learning to hang ten from the pros. There's also Camp Jam in Chicago, Atlanta or Pittsburgh for all you Camp Rock wannabes, and the Pali Summer Fashion Design Institute in L.A. if you want to be the next Lauren Conrad.
ICYDK, the American Camping Association says 10 million kids go to camp every summer. They pack up their stuff and head for the hills, the lake, or, in some cases, a space simulator in Alabama. Yeah, that's right. Space Camp...gotta problem with that?
Are you going to camp this summer? Already been? We want to hear about it. Leave us a comment and tell us what you did!
