Miley Cyrus took to the stage during last night's Teen Choice Awards and got the crowd going with a performance of her new single, 'Party In The USA.' (See photos from the night here)

But instead of a nationwide party, Miley might have stirred up a worldwide controversy when she started dancing on an ice cream cart with a pole attached to it. Uh oh! Why Miley, why?

Around the web, people have started calling Miley the next Britney Spears, which could either be interpreted as a good thing or a bad thing...

Luckily, Miley is taking it as a good thing. She just tweeted, "For all the people calling me the "next Britney" THANK U. I couldn't ask for a better compliment :)

Miley also presented an award to Britney last night and gushed, "I'm a huge fans of hers," before giving her the award. Miley was also a winner - she picked up six surfboards including one for Choice Music Single for her song 'The Climb' from Hannah Montana The Movie.

Catch her performance (and the rest of the awards) tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern on FOX.
