Want to stay fit and healthy by playing video games? That's what Nintendo Wii is betting on again with the latest extreme sports video game, Active Life: Extreme Challenge, released on August 11th. "Extreme" games include: base jumping, street luge, rock climbing, skateboarding, BMX, acrobatic double dutch and more.
At first glance it looks like another Wii Sports Resort. But game-maker NAMCO BANDAI is trying to push the active gaming trend to the extreme in a way that "just might make you feel better, sleep better, and do better in school", according to their site, playactivelife.com.
The game also has multi-player function, Mii integrated characters, and time trials. We got a chance to play a few games and it matched up fairly well with Wii Sports Resort, but Sports Resort has the WiiMotionPlus device which gives it a clear edge:
