How do you adapt Maurice Sendak's classic children's tale, Where the Wild Things Are, into a full-length feature film? Director Spike Jonze was able to do it with flying colors, and without disrupting the vision of the author's original book.

"I've never seen a movie that looked or felt like this," Sendak says about the movie.

"He (Sendak) said from the beginning, 'You have to make it dangerous -- make something that respects kids and doesn't talk down to them," Jonze says. "Or if not, it wasn't worth doing."

Interesting!
