Selena Gomez continued with her do-gooder ways when she visited Charnock Elementary School in Los Angeles for OfficeMax's third annual A Day Made Better event on Tuesday.
The Los Angeles event was held to shed light on the fact that teachers in America spend about $1,000 of their own money for school supplies. With this in mind, OfficeMax associates and participating celebs surprised winning teachers with a box of supplies, including a printer, digital camera and other essential classroom materials. One thousand deserving teachers were presented with the boxes of supplies worth over $1,000 each.
"Teachers inspire and shape our country's greatest asset, our children, and it is astounding that they are left to cover the cost of doing a good job," said Bob Thacker, SVP of marketing and advertising for OfficeMax. "We hope today's surprise events will generate a grassroots movement in support of teachers and demonstrate how easy it is to make a difference in your own community."
