Road Report: The Sunstreak Gain Serious Fans in Ohio
Hey kids ... Jason here. Today we woke up in Canton, OH and hit up the areas coolest Top 40 station, Q92! We met up with some cool cats down there and did our very first live on-air interview and performance ever with DeLuca and Charlotte. We didn't hear it, of course, but everyone who did said it went swimmingly!
On the way to our next gig, we drove by the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and being the sports junkies that we are, we had to stop. I feel like such a tourist sometimes, but isn't that the perk of traveling the country in a van with a little bit of free time?!
We then headed of to our high school performance of the day, Canton South. The kids there were great and super receptive. Mr. Rivers, the music director there, made us feel right at home, and the students had plenty of questions for us. One girl actually asked if we ever had a stalker, and jokingly we said that we hadn't, but one of them might be our first. Little did we know, the kids from the show were all out at our van waiting for us as we loaded up our gear. They had written their names and messages in the dirt on our van and trailer ... Guess we should wash it a little more often! Creepy!!! Haha.
We ended our night at a fan's house for a private show. Our new friend, Treasure, and her family and friends all showed up and we played an acoustic set in the living room and hung out with them for a few hours. They had some really cool dogs there and Rob, our merch guy, fell in love with the tiny one, Rico. We slammed some snacks and took some wild pix ... These kids were crrrrrazy! We loved every second of it!
Now we're off to Lansing and Grand Rapids, MI ... Fun five-hour drive! Woooot!
