The Sunstreak Make It Rain in Missouri
We just had a great show this weekend in our hometown, Rochester, NY, with one of our favorite bands Anberlin. Thanks to all our fans that came out to support us -- it was a great show.
Yesterday, we started our 16-hour drive to our radio interview at KSPW in Springfield, MO. It's been raining ALL day long here, and I think we brought the bad weather with us from New York. On top of our the long drive through the night and the horrible driving conditions, we popped one of our trailer tires. It was about three in the morning alongside a dark highway in Indiana, and half of us are out changing it in the storm while the other half are sleeping cozily in the warm van... I was one of lucky ones.
We got to the radio station fashionably late and were greeted by a conference room full of the station's employees. It quickly went from a small interview to a performance for about 15 DJs, PDs, and interns. We hung out for a bit and took some pix before we had to race over to our next performance. [It took] 20 minutes to make a 30-minute trip -- the story of The Sunstreak.
Strafford High was our next destination and we got there with about 20 minutes to set up all our gear before the auditorium flooded with kids. A couple hundred kids jammed out to us and they were a great group. We had a question-and-answer session and took some pictures with the kids. Kids were having us sign all kinds of stuff like sweatshirts and bags... One girl even took off her shoe; didn't smell at all...
Tomorrow we have a show and radio spot in Kansas City... Go Chiefs? Nah!
