Glee Gets A New Famous Face
Idina Menzel, one of Broadway's biggest stars, will be joining the cast of Glee for the final nine episodes of this season. She'll be playing the coach of McKinley High's toughest show choir competition, Vocal Adrenaline. But did you notice yet how much this "Wicked" alum looks freakishly similar to the show's star, Lea Michele?
They share more in common than just looks, too: both beauties spent time singing their lungs out on a Broadway stage. Before Glee, Lea played the lead role of Wendla in "Spring Awakening," while Idina won a Tony for her role as Elphaba in "Wicked."
Wait, did we just spot a trend in Glee casting? Kristin Chenoweth, also of "Wicked" fame, appeared earlier this season on the hit show. Which Broadway star could be next to stop by the set? Corbin Bleu just signed on to play the lead in "In the Heights" from January 25 to April 25, 2010. Maybe we'll catch him on an episode next season.
