McDonald's has announced that it will begin offering free WiFi access at most of its U.S. locations beginning in mid-January. The fast food chain previously charged its customers a $2.95 fee for two hours of Internet use, but will now offer the service at no cost and with no time limit.

"We're not just about hamburgers," Dave Grooms, chief information officer for McDonald's USA said. "We are about convenience and all kinds of value."

"We don't mind at all if people step in take advantage of the WiFi and linger a bit," he continued. So go ahead -- break out your iPhones and laptops and stay a while!
