Barack Obama was sworn in as America's 44th president 365 days ago today. And a year later, he's still making history. Yes, people, even the president is now using Twitter.
Tween Tribune reports that Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama recently visited the American Red Cross headquarters in Washington, D.C. to show their appreciation and support to all of the workers who are helping with disaster efforts in Haiti. He thanked the staff and volunteers and also urged them to continue their great work.
When the president stopped by one station where workers are responsible for monitoring messages on the Red Cross' Twitter account, the President provided a helping hand. Obama pushed the button on a message that said he and Michelle Obama were visiting the headquarters, marking his first official tweet. It said, "President Obama and the First Lady are here visiting our disaster operation center right now."
