Robert Pattinson may soon have a new A-list gig lined up.

According to Variety, he's rumored to be in the final stages of securing a deal that will have Rob star, along with Reese Witherspoon, in the film version of "Water for Elephants." Based on the novel by Sara Gruen, the movie will follow a Cornell University veterinary student who leaves school after his parents pass away to go and work as a vet in the circus.

Shooting is expected to begin this June, the same month that Eclipse hits theaters (how will that work with all the press Rob has to do around any new Twilight movie's release?). Meanwhile, in Robert's next starring role, Remember Me, he plays a rebellious guy with family drama who falls for a police officer's daughter (Emilie de Ravin). Here's a sneak peek of the movie, which hits theaters March 12.
