The disc includes four bonus webisodes, featuring behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the cast. In one of the interviews, director Spike Jonze speaks highly of first-time actor and star of the film Max Records, calling him "the heart" the movie.
"Max is really special and amazing on camera and an amazingly hard worker" Spike says.
As for the film, Spike had a clear vision of it from the beginning. "I wanted it to be like an action movie starring a 9-year-old," he says. "I wanted Max to be like Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible or one of those kind of movies. So much of the movie has this physical mayhem to it like Max and the Wild Things having dirt clod fights or rampaging in the forest."
In this video from the Washington, D.C. premiere of the movie, everyone was so excited they could barely speak! We expect nothing less for the Where the Wild Things Are DVD, which is available in stores and online now.
