"Grade seven was hard for me, I was kind of like the wimpy kid," Devon says. "I was very awkward, but by grade eight, it started to get better. I think middle school is tough for everyone," Devon says. "It's such a weird, awkward phase in your life. I think that's why this book and this movie work so well... everyone can relate to it."
In the film's trailer, Devon's character basically tells Greg that he's going to die during his first day of middle school. We're happy to report that the Canadian funny guy and former Degrassi actor is much nicer than his character. He began acting in the fifth grade and has had a steady stream of TV and movie gigs ever since. And he also dabbles in screenwriting and directing.
I love writing," Devon says. "Me and my brother, we write together. We just finished a script, like a hundred pages. My interests are very based around this industry. Even when I was younger I would make home videos with my friends."
