Singing? Check. Dancing? Check. Acting? Check. Glee has already got all the makings of a Broadway musical, so it's no suprise that Music Theatre International is talks with Fox to create a stage production of the hit TV series.
"The Glee deal is in negotiations," Music Theatre International chairman Freddie Gershon told Playbill.com. "We're exploring a collaborative venture with Fox and Glee. We just think it's a natural." MTI has produced Broadway shows such as Legally Blonde, Hairspray, and Fiddler on the Roof, so they know what they're doing when it comes to successful screen-to-stage musicals.
"We've had a tremendous amount of enthusiasm from our music partners," FOX broadcasting president Kevin Reilly said about the possible Glee musical last fall. "Certainly if these kids become stars in their own right, who knows? Live appearances. Albums. There's lots of things that could happen."
Well, the cast has already booked a live concert tour and cast member Matthew Morrison is in the studio recording his solo album. So, if we go by Kevin Reilly's predictions, there's a great chance that the Glee musical deal will go through. Whether the original cast will perform in the musical remains to be seen, but with their already hectic filming and appearances schedule, we predict that they'll stick to playing their characters on the small screen.%Poll-43195%
