The students of Deerfield Run Elementary School in Laurel, Maryland were treated to a very special performance on March 5. Their principal, Thomas Tucker, dressed up as Hannah Montana and performed several of the Disney character's songs in front of his students.
Why? Well, Principal Tucker promised he would dress up as the pop star if his students were able to read 5,000 books in total. The performance was such a good incentive that the students actually exceeded the goal and read more than 6,500 books.
The principal sported a long blond wig, scarves and high-heeled boots like Hannah Montana, and lip synched to songs with the help of 11-year-old fifth graders Daniella Diaz and Jahna Edwards. The two girls sang back-up and provided choreography for the musical numbers.
