Last week, Music Theater International said they were in talks with Fox to create a Broadway musical of Glee, but now a rep for the TV series says that report was false.

"We are very careful and deliberate when contemplating brand extensions of our franchises and are mystified why Music Theater International would claim there have been any such discussions about a live theatrical version of 'Glee,'" 20th Century Fox TV spokesman Chris Alexander told Variety.

While we would have loved to see a stage production of the show, it doesn't look like it's happening any time soon. We know this feels like a cold slushie to the face, especially when nearly 70 percent of you voted that you wanted the musical to be greenlighted in our reader poll.

However, the cast of Glee will still be hitting the stage this spring on a two-week concert tour that kicks off in Phoenix on May 15. Gleeks will be able to get their live performance fill from those shows, and that, we can say, is definitely confirmed.
