If you're really into music, you might have heard about the touring festival called Lilith Fair, which was held annually from 1997 to 1999. It's been 11 years since the last run, but now the Lilith Tour is back with a whole new lineup of female artists, including Kelly Clarkson, Ke$ha, Vita Chambers and Selena Gomez, who was just announced on Thursday.
The tour will kick off on June 27 in Calgary, Canada and travel through 36 cities throughout North America. While the bill is stacked with over 80 rock, pop and folk artists, Selena won't be singing at every date on the tour. The festival is designed to have a rotating lineup of musicians during its summer-long run.
Lilith Fair was founded by Canadian musician Sarah McLachlan, who was frustrated by concert promoters who wouldn't put two female musicians on stage back-to-back. In 1997, Sarah launched the all-female festival, which earned $16 million in its first year, and raised over $10 million for women's charities over the course of its initial three-year stint.
The 2010 Lilith Tour will welcome fresh female talent as well as solo artists and groups from its original bill. Tickets for announced dates will go on sale to the public, beginning Saturday, March 27 on LilithFair.com. %Poll-43403%
