American Idol is really trying to step up their game this season. First, they invited Miley Cyrus to appear on the show as a mentor, and now the Fox singing competition has lined up Justin Bieber to take the stage.

Coming off his Kids' Choice Awards performance, the 16-year-old pop star will perform on 'Idol' as a musical guest during the results show on Wednesday, reports AceShowBiz. American Idol has yet to confirm Justin's appearance, but there's one clue that leads us to believe it's true: Usher.

Usher has been tapped to be a mentor for the show's Top 10 contestants during R&B Soul Classics week, much like Miley did during her stint. Since Usher is Justin's real-life mentor, it's a clear choice to have the Canadian pop star as a musical performer.

Also, both Justin and Usher have new albums -- Justin's 'My World 2.0' was released on March 23 and Usher's 'Raymond v Raymond' is out on March 30 -- so it makes sense for them to promote their respective records together. Tune in on Wednesday, March 31 at 9 p.m. ET on Fox to see Justin's performance. It might just go something like this...
