Is 20th Century Fox is counting on Selena Gomez's popularity to lure people into theater seats to see Ramona and Beezus, the 17-year-old's first major movie. That kind of what it looked like when the first trailer for film, based on the popular book series by Beverly Cleary, was leaked earlier this month on Sel's official YouTube along with a special intro from Selena saying, "I'm showing it to my fans first. I'm so excited. I hope you guys like it."

Tiny problem...Selena isn't the star of this movie. Joey King is.

We're guessing Selena's 1.6 million Twitter followers looked a little better to the studio execs than Joey's 27,000. And to bump on Selena appeal even more, you'll hear a brand new song called "Live Like There's No Tomorrow" on the trailer. Of course, Selena's twittering and writing Facebook messages to drum up buzz about the movie, too. She tweeted a link to the trailer and wrote, "AH yay it's finally here! I cant wait for you guys to see it!"
Besides pleasing Fox, Selena has her own motives for the film, coming out July 23, to be a hit. Her contract states that she'll earn an additional $250,000 to $1 million payday depending on box office numbers. Do you think Selena has the chops to become a successful movie star? What do you think about the new song?
