Brace yourselves, Twi-hards. After nearly two years since the release of Breaking Dawn, Stephenie Meyer has a brand-new Twilight book coming out! The novella is called The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner and it will be released by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers on June 5.

The 192-page novella is told from the point of view of Bree, a newborn vampire that was first introduced in Eclipse. The story was originally meant to be a part of The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide, but it became too long to be included.

"I never intended to publish this story as a stand-alone book," Stephenie says on her website. "I began this story a long time ago-before Twilight was even released. Back then I was just editing Eclipse, and in the thick of my vampire world. I was thinking a lot about the newborns, imagining their side of the story, and one thing led to another."

The book will be released at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2010 in hardcover for $13.99, however, as a special thank you to her fans, Stephenie will be releasing the novella online for free from June 7 to July 5 at BreeTanner.com.
"There was one thing I asked for: since this story had always been an extra for me, and was meant to be released with the Guide, I wanted to be able to offer it to my fans for free," she added. "You all have bought a ton of my books, and I wanted to give you this story as a gift."

The first printing of the novella will include 1.5 million copies, and one dollar from each book sale will be donated to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, which provides disaster relief aid. So, the book will not only be a gift for Twi-fans, but it will also benefit a great charity as well. Mark your calendars for June 5!%Poll-43632%
