Demi Lovato is taking a career cue from Miley Cyrus, who's using her role in The Last Song as a way to introduce herself to an older audience. Demi's now tapping that more-mature-than-Disney market, too, by guest-starring on Grey's Anatomy this May.
On Monday morning, Demi tweeted, "For all of you amazing patient people... I'm so thrilled to announce that this week I'm shooting Grey's Anatomy!!!!!!!! :D AHHH!!!!"
Demi's role will be a far cry from her funny, sweet, goofy character Sonny on the Disney Channel comedy, 'Sonny With A Chance.' While on ABC, she'll play a patient who may be suffering from schizophrenia. For the first time, we'll see Demi tackle a dramatic role, and she seems to enjoy the new challenge. She tweeted, "Grey's was so fun.. felt like I was playing a character from girl interrupted."
A lot of Miley's fans will probably go see 'The Last Song' (are you?), but we doubt the majority of Demi's 1.5 million plus Twitter followers are big Grey's watchers. Should she stick to roles her fans will actually watch?
