Stephenie Meyer is known for her Twilight book series, but the bestselling author also has a non-vampire novel under her belt. In 2008, Stephenie penned 'The Host,' which, according to Deadline.com, could begin filming in 2011.

Although The Host doesn't involve werewolves or The Volturi, Stephenie sticks with paranormal themes and centers her story around aliens that have taken over the minds and bodies of humans.

When the book came out, the Twilight author told MTV News it was like "'Invasion of the Body Snatchers,' if the aliens had won."

A lot of pieces to the Host project are still out of place. The film still needs financial backing, the final draft of the screenplay has yet to be completed and the shooting schedule hasn't been confirmed.

However, if all goes as planned, and filming starts next year, it's possible that The Host could arrive in theaters before part 2 of Breaking Dawn -- that is, if the movie is split into two parts. This, coupled with the news of Stephenie's new novella, could keep fans of the vampire series very happy between Twilight Saga releases.
Stephenie left the end of The Host open for two planned sequels, but they have yet to be published. If they ever see the light of day, the author could have another successful series on her hands. %Poll-43787%
