Who needs the glitz and glamour of Hollywood? Today's biggest stars are filming their movies in cities all across the country.
Miley Cyrus' The Last Song was filmed in Tybee Island, Georgia and she loved every minute of shooting by the beach. Miley says she felt happy to escape L.A. at the time and told MTV, "If I could go back [to Tybee Island], I would love to." Kristen Stewart's also leaving L.A. for her next project - she's headed to Buffalo, NY or the "heartland of America" as her An American Girl director calls the city.
Taylor Lautner's the latest star headed east. He'll pack his bags this summer for Pittsburgh, PA. Just after 'Eclipse' is released, he'll start working on Abduction in the steel town. So what's really driving the movie business outta Hollywood?
"The film tax credit has been extremely successful for Southwestern Pennsylvania," Dawn Keezer, director of the Pittsburgh Film Office, says. With lucrative tax breaks like this, you can expect more filmmakers to say, 'See ya, Hollywood. Hello, small town America.'
