The Jonas Brothers are continuing their do-gooder efforts in a new partnership with TOMS Shoes. The pop trio has teamed up with the charitable shoemaker for their One Day Without Shoes campaign, which asks people to go barefoot for one day on April 8 and experience what life without shoes is like.
The Jo Bros recorded a short PSA for the cause, which shows Joe Jonas taking off his shoes on the wrong day. After clarifying that the campaign refers to Thursday, April 8, Nick Jonas says, "We're hoping this will raise awareness for all kids who don't have shoes and to try to do our part, too -- to raise awareness."
Many children in developing countries grow up barefoot, which puts them at risk for contracting diseases, getting wounds on their feet and, in some cases, children can't go to school because shoes are part of their required uniform. The Jonas Brothers' have joined this effort to spread the word about children in need and promote TOMS' "One for One" movement in which TOMS Shoes will give a new pair of shoes to a child in need for every purchase of its product.
You'd probably get in trouble for going to school without shoes, but you can still participate when you get home. Will you go barefoot today? Watch the Jonas Brothers' PSA below. For more information on the TOMS Shoes' One Day Without Shoes and One for One movement, visit Toms.com.
