Disney's Dilemma: Who Should They Ask to 'Prom'?
Prom won't have the musical numbers like HSM, but execs are toying around with the idea of casting unknown actors for the movie's nine leading roles. They'll then cross their fingers that this film will produce the next round of Disney superstars.
There's also the option that Disney will use one of their already famous faces to give the movie's box-office numbers some star power push. If that's the case, Miley Cyrus most likely won't take the part. Besides distancing herself from her Hannah Montana image, she already has four movies in development. Same with Selena Gomez, who has been tapped for roles in Monte Carlo and What Boys Want. Demi Lovato, on the other hand, would be free to tackle the role and -- most likely --welcome the chance to bring her acting career to the big-screen.
As a happy medium to shelling out big bucks for a Miley-sized paycheck or casting an unknown leading lady, Disney could also tap their talent that has yet to blow up, like JONAS' Nicole Anderson (who's awesome and we can totally picture winning Prom Queen) or Suite Life's Debby Ryan.
