After the success of 'The Power of Madonna' episode and its accompanying EP, Glee creator Ryan Murphy is thinking about doing more tribute shows in the future. Several musicians are under consideration, but according to Entertainment Weekly, Britney Spears is high up on the list.On April 21, Britney's manager used Twitter to ask fans of the pop star if they'd want to see an episode devoted to her. As it turns out, Ryan is all about it. "I'm interested in the Britney Spears idea," he says. "I've always loved her. I'm entertaining it. I think young kids would like that."
But while many artists have a discography that could inspire an hour-long show, Glee's creator says that at the end of the day, it's all about how the music fits the series. "The key is the songs in the catalog have to have a certain degree of theatricality," he adds.
Britney has a ton of songs that would work -- 'Sometimes,' '(You Drive Me) Crazy,' 'Oops...I Did It Again,' 'Stronger' and 'I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman' would be perfect -- but could Glee's writers build a whole show around the pop singer like they did with Madonna? What other musicians would you want to see the cast pay tribute to?
