Taylor Swift has been tapped as the new spokesperson for Sony's Cyber-shot digital cameras. The 20-year-old country sensation stars in print ads and TV commercials, which have already debuted, and will continue to roll out through June.
The first commercial features Taylor promoting the iSweep Panorama camera (also called the TX7), which has a special wide-shot feature. In the video, Taylor visits Sony's Innovation Center where execs hand her a device that can capture "all of her fans" in one photo. Suddenly, dozens of screaming kids drop from the ceiling on suspension cords, and then the singer takes a pic. But does Taylor really make you want to buy the product?
Sure, everything that the Grammy-winning star is involved with has extra charm, but the Cyber-shot DSC-TX7 doesn't come cheap. While it has a cool touch screen, video capabilities and the ability to shoot 10 photos in one second, the camera retails for around $400. That's more than an iPhone and almost as much as an iPad.
Taylor's definitely got star power, but her teen fans may not be able to afford the cost of the product she's backing. What do you think? Does Taylor's endorsement make you want to own an TX7?
