On Saturday, May 1, a wide range of free comics (yes, free!) will be available to the public in celebration of Free Comic Book Day 2010. Fans of the medium can score titles from Archie Comics, DC Comics, Marvel, ComicCon and many more on this super cool day.

Free Comic Book Day is an annual event that has been held on the first Saturday in May every year since 2002. Independent retailers in the U.S., Canada and beyond celebrate the creative art form by offering free issues, activities and signings to its customers. Current, former and new fans of comic books are all encouraged to take part in the festive day.

Here's how it works: participating stores will have a specific selection of Free Comic Book Day titles to distribute on Saturday. (You can't just grab whatever issue you want off the shelves.) Visit FreeComicBookDay.com to see a list of available titles, and search for retailers using their handy store locator, which narrows down stores by zip code. Enjoy! %Poll-45649%
