A 17-year-old guy may be facing criminal charges after he was bored and decide to post a phony ad on Craigslist.

The Idaho teen used the name Rick Obelophy and created a message that said Rick was looking to sell his 4-year-old son for $5,000. The teen wrote, "He doesn't fuss very much but when he does he just screams for hours. I usually just put him in his closet until he stops and that usually works."

Obviously this raised red flags. Police in Spokane, Washington began investigating possible child selling and child abuse crimes. That lead them to a home-schooled northern Idaho teen with "nothing else to do."

"He thought it'd be funny," explains Lt. Corey Coon of the Sandpoint, Idaho police department. Police also say the teen had no idea the story became international news.
