How would you describe your musical genre or style? Eclectic!! I sing all different kinds of music so I guess my style is my own, I just sing what I love to listen to.

Tell us about your new album...what is your favorite song? I can't pick just one! My new album is a very big reflection of not only me as an artist but me as a person and all of the songs are very personal to me in their own way, they all mean something different to me. I guess my favorite cover is 'Sunny Side of the Street' because it's very fresh, kind of a new take on an old standard and out of the originals I love all!! Haha, I can't pick one. Maybe 'For Another Day,' 'Cool My Heels,' 'Never Make It On Time' and also 'Grey Skies.'
What artists do you look up to or inspire to be the next generation of? I look up to Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, The Beatles, Simon Garfunkel, etc. I love the era of the 60's and 70's. The music is so authentic. I don't know [who] I want to be 'the next generation of' because I think that's for other people to say, not for me.

If we turned on your iPod right now, what songs would we find?
A lot of songs hahaha ranging from hip hop rap to classic jazz and everything in between!

Explain 'scatting' for teens who find your version of 'Airmail Special' on YouTube and don't know what it is. Haha, well scat is basically nonsense syllables that you make up as you go along around the guide tones of the song, like the chords. It's a lot of fun! You should try it :)

You're Canadian, like one of our other favorite singers, Justin Bieber Any chance of a duet? That would be amazing! Haha. I'm pretty open to anything, he's very talented!

Seriously guys, check out her album - in stores and on iTunes now. And watch Nikki singing in the Young Artists For Haiti's benefit performance of K'naan's Wavin' Flag below - her amazing vocals start at 3:02 and Justin Bieber sings the final lines of the song.
