You'd think playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 right before bed would give you crazy dreams or at the very least, make it difficult to fall asleep, right?
Not so, according to a new study from Australia that involves 13 guys ages 14 through 18. After playing a "stimulating" video game, it only took the teens about seven and a half minutes to fall asleep. That's only four and a half minutes longer than it took them to doze off after watching a DVD documentary.
The study also found that no one fell asleep while playing video games, but almost a third of the teens passed out while watching the DVD. Sounds like common sense to us.
Research supervisor Michael Gradisar says, "Initially we were surprised that playing the violent video game did not lead to a much longer time taken to fall asleep."
Do you play video games before bed? Do you have any problems falling asleep?
