The first single from the Eclipse soundtrack will be from Stephenie Meyer's favorite band, Muse. The British rockers have written 'Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever)' exclusively for the original motion picture soundtrack, due out on June 8.

The song will be available for download on Monday, May 17, the same day iTunes will launch their pre-order for the soundtrack.
However, is accepting pre-orders for the CD now.

We're not surprised that the band's song was selected as the debut single -- in a way, Muse is Stephenie Meyer's muse. The Twilight author has called them "rock gods" and even dedicated the final book in her series to the trio for "providing a saga's worth of inspiration."

Eclipse is the third Twilight soundtrack on which Muse has appeared. The band contributed 'Supermassive Black Hole' to the Twilight soundtrack, and 'I Belong To You (New Moon Remix)' to the New Moon soundtrack. Although the movie hasn't begun filming, we have a hunch Muse will appear on the Breaking Dawn soundtrack, too.
We're still waiting to find out who else will be on the album, but with the success of the Twilight and New Moon soundtracks, there's no doubt that the music for Eclipse will be just as amazing. Eclipse will open in theaters nationwide on June 30, so fans will have three weeks to indulge in the music before the movie comes out.
