Justin Bieber is the latest star to get inked. According to MTV, the 16-year-old singer recently went to the Son of a Gun tattoo parlor in Toronto, Canada to get a small tattoo of a bird on his hip.
"It was a 16th birthday tattoo," shop owner Brian Byrne said. "I guess his dad has it, and one of his uncles. It's the outline of the seagull from Jonathan Livingston Seagull."
The first sighting of JB's ink hit the Web when the Canadian pop star was photographed playing football in Sydney, Australia. Justin was shirtless, revealing the tiny tat that seems to be part of a family tradition. (See a photo of Justin's tattoo here.)
The skin art might have even been a topic of discussion between Justin and his new friend Miley Cyrus. The two recently had dinner together, and like JB, Miley has a tattoo of her own. The 17-year-old sports the permanent phrase "Just Breathe" along her rib cage.
In Canada, you have to be 18 in order to get a tattoo by yourself. However, you can get inked at age 16 with parental permission. Justin, of course, abided by all the rules -- his father reportedly accompanied him to the Toronto tattoo shop, and even took pictures of the event.
