Robert Pattinson has been spotted with a new 'do recently, which has caused a ton of, well, buzz. Why did he do it? The 24-year-old actor reveals his reasons on The Ellen Degeneres Show today.

"I got a terrible infestation of nits and I had to shave it all off," Rob jokes about having head lice. But don't worry, the British actor was totally kidding. He shared a laugh with Ellen before explaining that his three-day-old haircut is for his role in the upcoming film Water for Elephants.

Rob is in L.A. and will begin shooting the movie on Thursday, he says. The film is based on the 2006 novel of the same name, which is centered around Jacob Jankowski (Rob) and his lifetime of experiences in a circus called The Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

Rob also talks about his rise to stardom, making People's 'Most Beautiful' list and more. The Twilight star's interview with Ellen airs today at 4 p.m. ET on NBC, but in case you miss it, we've got a video clip from the Q&A for you to check out after the jump.
