Justin Bieber is extra thankful today. Not only has his album, 'My World 2.0,' returned to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts, but the 16-year-old Canadian pop star has also been nominated for his first BET Award in the Best New Artist category!Justin took to his Twitter account on Wednesday, sharing all the great news. "Also thank u to @BET for nominating me for Best New Artist @ the BET Awards this year!!" he tweeted. "This is an incredible honor and I'm very grateful."
The Bieb will go up against Nicki Minaj, Wale, Young Money and Melanie Fiona for the coveted honor at the 2010 awards show. Fans can vote for their favorite artist on BET.com now. There's no word on whether Justin will be singing at the ceremony, but since performers are still being announced, there's still a chance that JB could take the stage at the event.
Fellow Canadian Drake is a confirmed performer, so we might be lucky enough to get a repeat of their collaboration at the Juno Awards. We'll just have to wait and see. The 2010 BET Awards will air live from the Shrine Auditorium in L.A. on June 27 at 8 p.m. ET.
