We've haven't been keeping to close an eye on American Idol this year, although we were glad to see Lee Dewyze and Crystal Bowersox make it into the final two. We did tune in last night though to see Justin Bieber. And while we waited patiently through results, car commercials, and even more commercials, we happened to catch Travis Garland's debut performance.

"Just got off stage! That was awesome!!" is what Travis tweeted right after he sang his song, 'Believe.' Unfortunately, a lot of people didn't think it was so awesome. But, hey, the guy was probably insanely nervous and talk about some in depth choreography. If the dancing and the vocals had come together better, it could have been a killer performance. But we're still able look at the song for what it is, a fun pop track that actually has a pretty catchy back beat.

The good news for Travis Garland, he's already got over 19,000 followers on Twitter and, surprisingly, his account is verified. That's more than we can say for Glee's Kevin McHale who despite his 100,000+ followers doesn't have a verified account yet. What's up with that, Twitter?

Anyway, here's the fun in all of this that we weren't aware of - Travis and Kevin used to be in a band together called NLT! Keep reading to watch Travis' performance from last night and rate it and also watch one of NLT's music videos from back in the day.

And check out Travis and Kevin in NLT's video for their single 'Karma' below. Pure awesomeness. Bust a move, Artie!
