Walmart is running into a heap of trouble. Miley Cyrus' jewelry brand is being recalled after reports that the baubles contain high levels of a toxic material.

In a nationwide test performed for the Associated Press, several pieces from Miley's line were found to contain a harmful level of cadmium -- which can cause bone softening and kidney failure, as well as other complications. Simply wearing the jewelry isn't dangerous, but sucking, biting, or swallowing it can be.

Even though the jewelry is just now being pulled from shelves, Walmart knew about the danger since February. In a statement explaining their actions (or lack of), the major national retailer said that the line was "designed for and marketed to older audiences" and was "not intended for children."

Right, because Miley's core audience is mainly adults.
Walmart now says Miley's jewelry will no longer be available for sale "while we investigate its compliance with our children's jewelry standard."
