On Tuesday, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reported that 18-year-old singing sensation Charice would be joining the cast of Glee in an upcoming season. We thought the news was too good to be true, and it turns out it is.
"I just want to let you all know, that it's not true that I'm going to be on Glee," Charice tweeted yesterday. "How I wish! haha."
The Filipino singer said she didn't know anything about the rumor until she read it online. The report quoted her Philipine manager, Grace Mendoza, who said Charice would be a series regular on the show. Later, the singer sent another tweet, which said that Grace "had no idea" about the story.
During Charice's recent visit, the pop star didn't say a word about an appearance on Glee, and when we tried to confirm the news with her U.S. label, they weren't able to verify it.
However, all of the online buzz about her possible role may land Charice on the show after all. Co-creator Ryan Murphy is considering a Britney Spears episode, an idea that blossomed from a simple tweet by her manager. Would you want to see Charice on Glee? And are you from the Philippines? Tell us, is Glee popular there?
