Selena Gomez to Release New Album on September 28
Selena Gomez may be hard at work on the set of her new movie Monte Carlo, but she's also working on another project -- her sophomore album. On Wednesday, the Wizards of Waverly Place star announced that her as-yet-untitled new record will be released on September 28.
But that's not all. Selena will also unveil the first single from her CD next month. 'Round and Round' will debut on Radio Disney on June 18, and the music video for the song will premiere on the Disney Channel two days later. The video, Selena says, will be shot this weekend in Budapest.
As for the sound of the new album, Selena tapped into a more mature, but retro pop sound. In a recent radio interview, she said: "I think what we really want to do with this record is musically more mature and with my whole sound and vibe and what I want to become as a musician. I think this is the first step to that. So it's very techno, it's very like old-school Britney stuff that I love."
In other Selena news, the singer/actress will be teaming up with UNICEF again this fall for their annual Trick or Treat campaign. "I am so happy to make this announcement," she wrote. "For the third year in a row, I will be helping UNICEF spread the word for their 60th anniversary of Trick or Treat for UNICEF. I hope that you all join me this Halloween in collecting coins to help raise money to help children all over the world." %Poll-47198%
