Last night on American Idol, a new winner was crowned while the King of Judges Row Simon Cowell said goodbye.

So this leaves a big question mark: Who could possibly fill the empty seat and live up to Simon's snarky but usually spot-on remarks? Could anyone even come close? We have two words: Sue Sylvester.

Glee's already filling American Idol's shoes by scoring the coveted post-Super Bowl time slot while Idol cuts its air time next season. Fox should jump at the opportunity to bank on its new 'It' show's hype to bring positive ratings and reviews back to AI. Plus, Jane Lynch is on Glee -- doesn't that already give her more music cred than Ellen DeGeneres?

And who's more Simon-style cut-throat on the network than Mr. Schue's nemesis? Now only one question remains, 'How well is Jane Lynch at incorporating her character into real life?'
If the answer is pretty awesome, ding ding ding, we just saved American Idol.
