"I originally auditioned for the role of Artie," Chris Colfer reveals. So how did he end up landing Kurt's part on Glee instead? It's an interesting story.

At Chris' second audition, the show's creator Ryan Murphy said to him, "Why do I have a feeling you've been in The Sound of Music?" Ryan was spot on – Chris told him that when he was 14, he played Kurt.

"They definitely got a Von Trapp vibe from me," the actor who just celebrated his 20th birthday on May 27, jokes.

The wheels must have been turning in Ryan's mind because Chris continues, "Later I got a call from my agent that they were writing a new role that they wanted me to audition for instead. And I find out that this new role is called Kurt."

Coincidence? Doubtful.
"They didn't tell me it was written for me until after I was cast, which I really wish they had told me before because I would have saved so many emotions and nerves," the California native dishes.
