As we suspected, Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison hit the stage for an amazing performance at last night's Tony Awards. The two Glee stars did not perform a duet, however, they did sing back-to-back numbers from Funny Girl and Gypsy, respectively.

Matthew performed and song-and-dance routine to 'All I Need Is the Girl' with the help of four back-up dancers. He definitely showed us his on-stage chops, singing like he never has on Glee.

Matthew also has a tie to Laura Bell Bundy, who introduced the Glee pair. Not only did he and Laura star in Hairspray together, but the Broadway-turned-country-star said she almost cast him in her 'Giddy On Up' video.

After his number, the camera turned to the aisles of Radio City Music Hall where Lea began belting out her cover of 'Don't Rain on My Parade.' Lea's performance was super dramatic since she performed most of the song off-stage. She even stopped to sit on Jonathan Groff's lap and sing in front of Beyonce and Jay-Z without missing a beat!
The two numbers were great, but we're still wondering why the two didn't sing together. Also, we heard a rumor that Funny Girl is coming back to Broadway and Lea is eying the role. Could her captivating performance have been an informal audition? Or was it just to remind people of Rachel Berry's save at Sectionals? Watch the full Tony appearance below and let us know what you think.
