Two weeks ago, we planned on doing a Twitter interview with Allstar Weekend, but when we finally hooked up with the band, they were just about to go on stage, so we had to reschedule. But fear not, fans. We ended up hanging out with the guys after all (we're just going to save the Twitter-view for another time).
Allstar Weekend is currently on the road, touring in support of their debut album, 'Suddenly.' "We love playing live, meeting new people [and] hanging out with fans," singer Zach Porter tells JSYK. But when the band is so far away from home, they need to be equipped with some essentials. For Zach, water is key; Michael Martinez needs his Toy Story blanket; Nathan Darmody has to have his iPod; and Cameron Quiseng can't get by without a few good books.
In the past year, the band has shared the stage with the likes of Emily Osment, Selena Gomez and more, but their show with a certain Canadian pop star was the most memorable for the San Diego four-piece. "[Playing with] Justin Bieber was crazy because it was the first time we played in front of such a HUGE crowd with girls screaming and crying, and we got tackled after our meet and greet," Zach recalls.
Since Allstar Weekend hit the scene, the band has earned an impressive following with their poppy singles 'A Different Side of Me' and 'Dance Forever,' for which the guys just released a brand-new video. The song, which is one of Allstar Weekend's favorites, inspired the high-energy concept that the band says was all for the fans. "We just wanted a very fun video that everyone can enjoy," Zach adds. "And we love dancing so we threw some dance elements into it!"
