Social networking is the norm these days, but a new survey shows that nearly one-fifth of teens who have a Facebook profile say they rarely visit the site or use it much less.
According to the report by Roiworld, 45 percent of teens (ages 13-17) who have a Facebook account cite loss of interest as the reason why they don't use the social network anymore. Twenty-eight percent say they're more interested in other sites, while other teens say there are too many notifications and ads, and updating their profile became a chore.
Sixteen percent say they don't use the site because their parents are on it, and one in five teens say that most of their friends have bailed on the social network, too. But, while Facebook may not be as widely used as before, it's still the most popular social site for teens. YouTube comes in at a close second, and MySpace and Twitter follow right after at No. 3 and No. 4.
Are you surprised by the ranking or do you think the survey's results are spot on? Do you still use Facebook or are you more likey to be on YouTube, MySpace or Twitter on a regular basis?
