Here's something to cheer about, Gleeks. On Thursday, the official 2010 Emmy Awards nominees were announced, and Glee led the pack by scoring an incredible 19 nods for the show and its cast.
The series has been nominated for Outstanding Comedy, going up against stiff competition like Modern Family and 30 Rock. Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch, who are all first-time Emmy nominees, received individual nods, too.
Lea landed a nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, which isn't too surprising since she steals the show every week with her voice and portrayal of Rachel Berry. Matthew was graced with a nom in the Best Actor in a Comedy Series category, and Jane was recognized as an Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy for her unforgettable role as Sue Sylvester.
But some of the most exciting news is Chris' nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy. Kurt Hummel wouldn't be the same if the hilarious 20-year-old wasn't playing him, and we're so excited that he's being recognized for his work.
The Glee stars face many other talented actors in their categories, but we have a hunch the William McKinley crew will take home quite a few statues the night of the ceremony. What do you think? The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards airs live on August 29 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. %Poll-49223%
