While we're still waiting to find out whether Taylor Lautner will sign on to star in X-Men First Class, our friends over at JustJaredJr have delivered some more exciting news. Lucas Till is in talks to play the mutant superhero Havok in the upcoming film!
If Lucas joins the cast, the 19-year-old actor will be working opposite James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto) and possibly Victoria Justice's rumored boyfriend, Nicholas Hoult, who is in the running to play Hank McCoy, a.k.a. Beast.
The film focuses on what happened between Magneto and Professor X before the eternal war began, but Lucas already has a new action flick on the horizon -- he's starring in Battle: Los Angeles, which is due out next year. But the possibility of the Texas native working with Taylor has us super excited. In fact, when we interviewed Lucas last fall, he said it'd be great to do a film with the Twilight star.
"Oh yeah, I like that kid," he said about Taylor. "I would love to work with him. And he's looking jacked in that new Twilight. I just saw a preview for that, he's looking swole. He's big! So I think he'd be a good action hero. But I love action movies. If I had a choice, I'd really just want to do that for the rest of my career. And if it was with Taylor Lautner, why not?" X-Men: First class could begin filming as early as this summer, and is expected to be released in theaters on June 3, 2011
