Here's a stupid criminals story to make you laugh: A mom and her teenage son were caught attempting to shoplift $71 in items from a Florida Kmart. After being spotted in their five-finger-discount scheme, a loss prevention officer then led the two toward an office in the store. That's when 19-year-old Cory Dalton shouted, "Run, ma, run!" and the partners in crime fled the scene.

After jumping into a Cadillac, 38-year-old Lori Lynn Larocque probably assumed she and Cory were off the hook....that is, until this mom realized that she mistakenly left her debit card behind and $13 worth of legally purchased goods.

Oops, slight flaw in their escape plan.

With the shoplifter's name in hand, police didn't have much trouble tracking them down. Both mom and son -- who also had an arrest warrant for failing to appear in court to face a marijuana possession charge -- were arrested and charged with petty theft.
