Just days after details about Justin Bieber's forthcoming 3D biopic were revealed, Deadline.com reports that the film's Oscar-winning director, Davis Guggenheim, has dropped out of the project.
According to the site, Davis bowed out of JB's Paramount Pictures movie on Tuesday because he'll be too busy promoting his film Waiting For Superman. The director was concerned about scheduling conflicts between shooting Justin's project and doing press interviews for his new documentary.
Although Justin has yet to comment on the news, we know that the 16-year-old pop star was super excited about having the filmmaker on board. "Next Valentine's we r coming with a major 3D Movie telling the story with an Oscar winning director and also filmin the tour at MSG in NYC!!" Justin tweeted on Monday.
The studio is currently interviewing new directors for the gig, but with a release date of February 11, time is ticking. Justin is currently out on the road with his 'My World' tour, which runs through the end of the year. We have no idea how the Bieb will even find time to shoot the biopic, but one thing's for sure, it's best not to let the Beliebers down.
Who do you think should direct the Justin Bieber movie? Avatar's James Cameron knows a thing or two about 3D films, and Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke might have room in her schedule since Breaking Dawn is being steered by Bill Condon. What are your thoughts? %Poll-50696%
